11:30 am – Celebrate the installation of the Irish Hunger Memorial Gravestone.
Bill Fahey of the Committee for Commemoration of Irish Famine Victims donated the Irish Hunger Memorial Gravestone to St. Vincent Cemetery. The Irish Hunger Memorial Gravestone is to honor all immigrant victims of the Irish famine who are buried in unmarked graves.
The commemorative gravestone is currently held in safekeeping at the Irish Railroad Workers Museum. The Museum officials will assist in moving the Irish Hunger Memorial gravestone to St. Vincent Cemetery for installation on April 28th at 11:30 am.

St. Vincent Cemetery consists of five acres, and it is located within the confines of the Clifton Park Golf Course in Baltimore, Maryland. To the casual observer, it just looks like open space park land, but closer observation reveals four clusters of tomb stones.
How did it get this way? There was a long history of vandalism to the point the city of Baltimore recommended bulldozing the tombstones, many under layers of soil. It remained that way for over 30 years until a small group of descendants found each other and formed the Friends of St. Vincent Cemetery (FOSVC).
The mission of the FOSVC is to develop St. Vincent Cemetery into a memorial park that will complement Clifton Park with a monument dedicated to all those buried in the cemetery.
